Of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning October 15th, 2017 in his residence with his devoted & loving companion by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 4, 1941 in Boston; son of the late Edward J. Dionne and Susanne (Agresta) Dionne, Joe was raised in the West End section of Boston and lived for several years in the North End before moving to Waltham over 35 years ago. Joe spent many years vacationing at his home in Kennebunk, Maine.
Joe graduated from Boston Public Schools and had been employed as a Truck Driver throughout his life. He was employed with Joe Antonellis Trucking Company of Newton and for many years with Anthony Vanaria & Sons Landscaping in Waltham until his retirement.
He had a passion for cooking especially slow cooked smoking BBQ.
Joe is survived by his devoted & loving companion of 40 years Kim K. Sylvester, his beloved children Pamella Malpartida and her husband Ken of Acton, California, Frank Dionne of Acton, California and Joseph Dionne of Boston, his dear siblings Annette Bellanti of Dedham, Bob Dionne of Lutz, Florida, Richard Dionne of the Hyde Park section of Boston, and Linda Dionne of Quincy. In addition he is survived by 8 cherished grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and his extended family the Sylvester's.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Joseph's Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Monday Oct. 23rd at 7 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the service on Monday from 4 - 7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
