Of Marlborough, passed away Thursday morning October 20th, 2016 in her home at the age of 73.
Born on May 11 1943 in Saint Paul, New Brunswick; daughter of the late Raymond and Margarete (Leger) Leger, Emma resided in Waltham for many years before moving to Marlborough 26 years ago.
Family was the central focus of her life. She nurtured her role as a mother, she was loving, caring, giving. Emma loved to surround herself with family and friends and spending time with everyone especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cleaning her house and her children’s houses; traveling to Canada to visit family and to St. Anne de Beau Pres’, Florida and Nashville. When she was dining out it had to be Chinese Food and when listening to music it was her French Canadian Radio Station.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years Norman Bastarache, her devoted & loving daughters Monique Allain and her husband Marcel of Dieppe, New Brunswick, Norma Savoie and her husband Ronnie of Nashua, New Hampshire, and Carole Sinopoli and her husband Frank of Marlborough, her cherished grandchildren Chantal and Danica Allain, Justin and Kyle Savoie, Cameron and Christopher Sinopoli, her dear siblings Florine Pitre and her husband Leonard of Waltham, Leo Leger and his wife Delcina of St. Paul, NB, Lorraine Jalliet of Bouctouche, NB, Edna Henrie and her husband Val of Waltham, Marie Fillmore and her husband Don of Clairville, NB, Pete Leger of Waltham and Laurie Boucher of Bouctouche, NB. In addition she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Emma’s Life at Saint Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway Street, Marlborough on Wednesday morning Oct. 26th at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Tuesday Oct. 25th from 4 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
