Of West Newton, passed away suddenly, Sunday, August 21, 2016, at her home. She was 64.
Born in Arlington to the late Ernest and Barbara (Goodman) Baker, she was raised in Waltham, and moved to West Newton 35 years ago, where she has been a resident ever since.
Ms. Baker was a graduate of Waltham High School and the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. She worked at The Waltham Hospital as a Medical Technologist until its closing and then at Beth Israel Deaconess, Needham until her retirement a year ago.
Mary Ellen was a very giving and kind person, she loved to travel, particularly to Hawaii and Disney World, and enjoyed nature and animals especially her nephew's dog Perrie. Most of all she loved to be with her family.
She is survived by her loving sister Barbara A. Brown of Waltham, her devoted nephews Michael L. Brown of Northbridge, and Kenneth E. Brown of Waltham, and her cherished grand nephews Michael and Hunter.
She was the sister-in-law of the late Larry Brown.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of her life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 moody St., WALTHAM, Friday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
