Of West Newton, passed away peacefully Thursday evening May 12th, 2016 with her loving family by her side in Newton - Wellesley Hospital at the age of 81.
Born on September 2, 1934 in Waltham, Massachusetts; daughter of the late George Veno and Clara (Clarkson) Veno, Paulie was raised and educated in Waltham before moving to Newton 50 years ago.
Her greatest gift in life was the blessing of her adoring husband Joe and her 6 loving daughters. Being part of the daily lives of her children, son in laws, grandchildren & great grandchildren made her complete. To the world she was a mother, but to her girls she was the world.
Paulie is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years (Ret.) Waltham Fire Department Lieutenant Joseph C. Doherty, her devoted & loving daughters Jacqueline Doherty and her husband Daniel Kalashian of Waltham, Karen Bianchi and her husband John of Needham, Susan Cononi and her husband Charles “Chip” of Waltham, Kristine Cotoia and her husband Robert “Bobby” of Needham, Kathleen Felt and her husband the late Robert "Bobby" of Waltham, and Joanne Rizza and her husband Marc of Waltham, her cherished grandchildren Brandon and Jennifer Kalashian, Christopher Bianchi and his wife Saudi, Danielle and Alexandra Bianchi, Calvin and Jordan Cononi, Robert and Vanessa Cotoia, Sammy & Kate Rizza, and her adoring great grandchildren Jack, James, Alexis & Charlie. In addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous dear friends.
She was the Dear sister of the late George Veno, Mary Perkins, Millie Bard, Edythe Martin & Marion Garrigan.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Wednesday morning May 18th at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Pauline's Life at Saint Bernard's Church, 1523 Washington St, West Newton at 12:00 p.m. Committal Services and Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Tuesday May 17th from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
