Of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 19, 2015 while vacationing in Hilton Head, South Carolina. She was 53.
Born on January 3, 1962, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Marie (Marino) Bonazzi of Naples, Florida.
Joanne grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts where she attended public schools. She graduated high school in 1980 and later graduated from Chamberlain School of Design in 1982 and Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1984 with a degree in Interior Design.
Over her career, Joanne worked as a Space Planner for AGFA Corporation, Staples, CVS and TJX Corporation. She also loved to help others with their interior design needs. During the 1990’s, she worked part-time at the Wallpaper Store, in Chelmsford and North Andover.
Joanne loved music, especially Bob Seger and Lynyrd Skynyrd. She spent a great deal of time on Facebook connecting with family and friends. Some of her other loves was to spend time at the beach, watching Boston sports, reading and blogging about politics. She had strong Democratic beliefs and believed in standing up for human rights, particularly the rights of minorities and women around the world. She also loved her three cats, Sweat Pea, Bianca and Ginger.
A devoted daughter, sister, aunt and dear friend to many, she cherished the time that she spent with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Joanne is survived by her brother, Tony Bonazzi, and his wife, Jody, of Strasburg, Pennsylvania, her sister, Denise (Bonazzi) Dodge, and her husband, Craig, of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. JoJo was the cherished aunt to her three nieces, Ashley Dodge, Amanda Dodge and Alaina Dodge, of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles ,and cousins.
Joanne was also the sister to the late, John Bonazzi, of Waltham, Massachusetts.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Joanne's life at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 920 Trapelo Rd., Waltham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 -8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
