Of Waltham, Sister Mary Rosanne entered eternal life in the loving arms of her God on Wednesday afternoon November 18th, 2015 at Saint Patrick's Manor in Framingham at the age of 90.
Born on March 23, 1925 in Lawrence; beloved daughter of the late Elzear Desrosiers and Marie (Plourde) Desrosiers, sister came from a family of ten children, 5 boys and 5 girls. Her dear sister, Sr. Consolata of Jesus, a Carmelite Sister, living in Buffalo, N.Y. is the only surviving sibling.
Sister Mary Rosanne entered the Marist Missionary Sisters in Bedford, Massachusetts on July 31, 1946 and was professed on February 2, 1949. She worked in Bedford in the sewing department before being missioned to Samoa in October 1951, where she taught for many years.
Sister eventually went for Teacher training in New Zealand from 1962-1963 and returned to Samoa where she taught until 1973 when she returned to the USA and the North American Province of the Congregation.
Sister Mary Rosanne’s experience in finance work kept her busy both at the local level as well as the Province level for many years. Her health was deteriorating and in 2007, Sister had to retire from working in Finances.
Sister was admitted to St. Patrick’s Manor Nursing Home in July of 2008.
In addition to her dear sister she is survived by her loving community of Marist Missionary Sisters.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of the Resurrection in celebration of Sister Mary Rosanne’s Life at the Marist Missionary Sisters Residence, 62 Newton Street, WALTHAM on Monday morning November 23rd at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Marist Missionary Sisters Lot at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Watertown. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Funeral Mass in the Marist Missionary Sisters Residence on Monday morning from 8:30am-10:00am.
