Of Waltham, passed away, Tuesday evening, April 14, 2015 at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge after a lengthy illness. He was 69.
Born and raised in Waltham to the late Francis J. Sr. and Helen M. (McGough) Hill, he was a lifelong resident of Waltham and a graduate of Waltham High School.
Shortly after High School Richard joined the Navy and Served honorably during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Waltham American Legion Post 156 and the V.F.W. post 2152.
Mr. Hill worked for Central Air Systems in Waltham for many years as an air conditioner technician. When he was younger he worked at the Red Cross Pharmacy and the Moody Spa.
In his spare time Richard loved to bake, he would always show up at Melissa's house on Sunday events with a tray of brownies or cookies. He will be remembered by his family and friends as just a "Nice Guy" who always had a smile on his face.
He was the longtime companion of the late Dianne Ryan and brother of the late Francis Hill, Jr.
He is survived by his step-daughter Melissa Jones and her husband Ken and their daughter Erin Jones of Waltham, and his brother William Hill of Waltham. He is also survived by many cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Friday, April 17, at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, from 4 - 7:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
