Of Waltham, passed away, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 57.
Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, December 1, 1957 to the late Angel and Emma (Castellano) Rivera, he moved to Waltham over thirty years ago.
Mr. Rivera was employed by Brandeis University in Waltham as Machine operator for 34 years.
As a younger man Ricardo loved to box and was still an avid fan of boxing. In his spare time enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox and most of all spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a happy loving man who was fun to be around.
He is survived by his loving wife Olga (Ramos) Rivera of Waltham, his devoted children Reinalily Rivera of CT, Elizabeth Rivera of Puerto Rico, Jennifer Rivera of Waltham, Nelson Rivera and his fiancée Ana Celi Perez of RI, Jason Rivera and his wife Monica of Watertown, and Richard Rivera of Waltham, and his sisters Minerva and Magdalis Rivera both of Puerto Rico and Wanda Rivera of Waltham. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Monday at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Ricardo's life at Saint Mary's Church, 145 School St., Waltham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
