Of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully Thursday evening January 1st, 2015 surrounded by family at Brigham & Women’s Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 57.
Born on June 2, 1957 in Boston; son of the late William J. Corbett Sr. and Claire (Welch) Corbett, Kevin was raised in Newton and lived for several years in West Roxbury before moving to Hyde Park.
Kevin was a graduate of Newton South High School with the Class of 1975, he was employed by the City of Newton Public School Department as a Custodian at the Mason Rice School for over 30 years before his retirement.
He proudly served with the United States Air Force.
He was a member of the Newton Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge #1327. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf.
Kevin is survived by his loving siblings William J. Corbett Jr. and his wife Diane of Medford, Richard Corbett and his wife Judy of Newton, Mary Beth Fraser and her husband Allan of Franklin, Donna Sarkisian of Waltham, Donald Corbett of Quincy, John Corbett and his wife Kelly of Hudson, Timothy Corbett and his companion Elizabeth Holland of Fitchburg. In addition he is survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and dear cousins.
Brother of the late Janet Higgins and brother-in-law of the late Edward Sarkisian and Lisa Corbett.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Kevin’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday evening Jan. 8th at 7:00 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel on Thursday prior to the service from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
