Of Waltham passed away peacefully late Monday evening December 15th, 2014 with loving family by her side in the Linda Manor Extended Care Facility at the age of 98.
Born on January 5, 1916 in Grand Etang, Nova Scotia; daughter of the late Charles and Felicite (Chiasson) LeBlanc, Rose immigrated to the United States as a young girl and resided in Waltham for most of her life until moving to Northampton 8 years ago.
Rose was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as Head Seamstress at the Walter E. Fernald State School in Waltham for many years. She also worked for a period of time at the former Waltham Supermarket and Stop & Shop.
For many years she was a very active member of the Waltham Senior Center and loved to play cards with her many friends.
Beloved wife of the late Frank B. Delfino whom she married on October 22, 1939 at Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham.
She is survived by her loving & devoted children Frank B. Delfino Jr. and his wife Joanne of Merrimack, NH and Karen M. Jasper and her partner Janet Beattie of Florence, her cherished grandchildren Jessica Cochrane and the late Christopher J. Delfino, adored great grandchildren Ryan, Drew, Logan, and Reese Cochrane, and beloved aunt of many.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home on Friday Dec. 19th from 3 – 7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty. Relatives & friends are also respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass in celebration of Rose’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning Dec. 20th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
