my fishing buddy
Gordie and i were fishing buddys. We had a fierce competition when it came to anything. We would grab our poles from the back of the truck and race for our favorite spot ! we would always try to slow each other down by holding branches back only to let them go at the last second to snap it back to slow each other down while laughing like kids. We would be across an alcove and when one of us would get close to the water one of us would throw a "plumpter" a big rock that would splash in the water and get you a little wet.. Our cooler had sandwiches and drinks we would constantly try to camoflage and hide from one another. At the end of our fishing day when we were wet and tired it would be back to " tar beach" that was Gordies driveway . Where if it was warm out we would meet sandy for a little sunbathing and alot of archery practice in the backyard .That was if Gordie had mowed the lawn to Sandys strict instruction.I will always remember those warm august afternoons puttering around a lawnmower or one of his backyard targets we were always trying to upgrade. I will always remember my friend tanned and in great shape always looking for another outdoor adventure. i will see you in the hard country again old friend. I will never forget our days in the warm sun fishing and telling great lies about the fish we never caught.. you will always be with me especially when i go into the great outdoors .. i will miss you my friend . I know you will guide my hand when i cast my reel and will be there when i catch the big one !!!!! love Glenn
