Obituary for Ronald H. Felt

Print
Ronald H Felt

On Sunday morning, September 30, 2018 we lost Ron, known to most as the “Chief”, at his home in Waltham after a lenghty illness that he gracefully and courageously fought. The Chief was 73 years young.

Boston born but raised in Brighton and Watertown by his parents the late William and Anna (MacDonald). In 1967, Ron moved to Waltham where he raised his family and remained a proud resident until his passing.

Ron took his passion for cars into a career in the Automobile Industry where he owned and operated Guardian Leasing Company. Mr. Felt spent the remainder of his career working for the City of Waltham in the Building Department until his retirement in 2012.

The Chief was an avid and passionate golfer and if he wasn’t out playing the game, he was tuned into the golf channel. Ron spent many years coaching his three sons in baseball or basketball, he also enjoyed hosting family and friends and often just being with his grandchildren.

Ron met his beloved wife, Jacqueline (Valentino) Felt when he was just 16 years of age, 6 years later they were married and together they just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

Ron was the devoted father of the late Robert “Bobby” Felt and brother to the late William and Jack Felt.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving sons Ronald J. Felt and his wife Jennifer (Cummings) of Natick and Mark Felt and his fiancé Kelly Cantore of Waltham, his daughter-in-law Kathleen (Doherty) Felt of Waltham, and his cherished grandchildren Alexandra Catherine and Carter Robert. Ron is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his sister-in-law Jane Felt.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Friday, October 5, 2018 at 9:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Ronald’s life at Our Lady Comforter of the afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Rd., Waltham at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4- 8 pm at the Mary Catherine Chapel. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Expression of sympathy may be made in Ronald’s memory to the Vernon Cancer Center, 2014, Washington St., Newton, MA 02462.
