Obituary for Edward Anthony Spinelli

Edward Anthony Spinelli

Of Waltham, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2017 at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 77.

Born and raised in Waltham to the late Leonard and Rose Spinelli, he was a life long resident of Waltham.

Edward served honorably in The United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Spinelli earned degrees from both Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

He was employed by Raytheon Co. in Waltham for over 50 years. During his time there he served as the CAD Manager.

In his spare time Edward enjoyed taking long walks around the city and on the Beach, gardening, taking care of his yard, dining out, and cooking. He also loved wildlife, building beautiful birdhouses, taking long rides to Maine, and his mother's cooking. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it.

He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis (Macaulay) Spinelli, his devoted sons Andrew Spinelli and his wife Patricia (Jimenez) of Waltham, and Christopher Spinelli of Waltham, his sisters Emily Mangini and her husband Tony of Waltham, and Mary Moran of Maynard, and his cherished grandchildren David, Isabella, and Cassandra.

He was the Bother-in-law of the late Frank Moran.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend A Funeral Service at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Saturday, December 16, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
