Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Thursday March 8th, 2018 at the Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham at the age of 91.

Born on October 30, 1927 in Brighton; beloved daughter of the elate Daniel and Mary (Griffin) Regan, Marie was raised in Brighton before moving to Lakeview Terrace in Waltham where she lived for most of her life.

Marie was employed at Grover Cronin's Department Store on Moody Street in Waltham and for Glenn Insurance Company.

She was a past member of the John M. Sullivan VFW Post #10334 Ladies Auxiliary in Waltham. She was always giving of herself in any way she could in supporting veterans efforts. It was her nature to always be there for other, a woman of limited resources always found a way to give whatever she could to her family & friends. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from being surrounded by family.

Marie was a faithful and devoted catholic. When she was not able to attend Mass she enjoyed watching Catholic television.

In her spare time Marie enjoyed going dancing, following the Boston Red Sox as an avid fan, and always looked forward to every Friday having her hair done with her sister at Evelyn's Hair Salon.

Marie never had a license and for 51 years she lived with her best friend and dear sister Loretta, whom she did everything with over the years.

Devoted & Loving mother of Richard O'Regan of Waltham. Cherished grandmother of Carrie O'Regan Evangelinos and Michael Martin O'Regan. Adoring great grandmother of Theo & Alex. Dearest sister of Loretta Gildea whom Marie lived with for 51 years in Waltham and dear sister of the late Daniel Regan and Kathleen Killoran.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Marie’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Funeral Service from 10:00 am – 12:00 p.m.
