Augustine "Bovi" Bova
Of Waltham, passed away Wednesday evening, June 6, 2017 at the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice House in Needham. He was 93
Born in Boston to the late Salvatore and Julia (Belmonti) Bova, he was raised in Arlington, and spent many years in Waltham and Needham.
Mr. Bova Served honorably in the United States Army during World War II.
He worked as a welder for many years and most recently as an Engineer at Honeywell. Mr. Bova also volunteered his time at the Waltham Hospital and Deaconess Beth Israel Hospital in Needham.
He was known to his friends and family as Bovi. He played tennis well into his 60's.. He enjoyed painting pictures, dancing, gambling, and food.
He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline (Dube) Bova, and brother of the late Marie and Irene Bova.
He is survived by his loving step-children Donald J. Saulnier, Jr. and his wife Christine (Casella) of West Yarmouth, Mark Saulnier and his wife Kimberly Collins of Sherborn, Aimee J. Saulnier and her wife Diana M. Bastarache of Burlington, and Sheila M. Ierardi and her husband Michael of Canton, his grandchildren Gary Bastarache of Burlington, Eric Saulnier of Canton, OH, Ashley Soughley of Northborough, Catlin Saulnier of Waltham, Abigail Jackson of Abington, Holly Ierardi of Canton, and Tommy Saulnier of Sherborn. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting hours in celebration of Bovi's life at Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Friday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be private. Parking attendants will be on duty.
