Obituary for William Joseph "Bill" Carroll

Of Bridgeport, CT, formerly of Watertown, passed away, Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough. He was 76.

Born in Worcester and raised in Watertown to the late Joseph and Anna (Shields) Carroll, he was a longtime resident of Watertown. He was a graduate of Watertown High School. He moved to Bridgeport 25 years ago where he has been living ever since.

Bill served honorably in the United States Army.

Bill worked as an electrical inspector for Cambion Company in Cambridge for many years and as a custodian for the Bridgeport School Department for 15 years..

Bill enjoyed playing basketball in his younger days and liked to follow the local teams.

He is survived by his children Joseph Carroll and his wife Gianna (Cillo) of Middletown, RI, Brian Carroll and his wife Cheryl (Boudreau) of Natick, and Christine (Carroll) Champion and her husband Bill of Waltham, his former wife Winifred (Stephens) Carroll of Marlborough, and his grandchildren Brendan, Jennifer, John, Stephen, Adriana, Billy, and Charlotte.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of Bill's life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
