Obituary for Bernard J. Davis

Bernard J. Davis
Of Burlington formerly of Waltham, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 18th, 2017 at Lahey Clinic & Medical Center in Burlington at the age of 91.

Born on July 11, 1925 in Richibucto, New Brunswick, Canada; son of the late John Davis and Dora (Bastarche) Davis, Bernie was raised in New Brunswick and had been a resident of Waltham, Massachusetts for over 55 years before moving in with his daughter & son-in-law.

Bernie left school in the 6th grade to help raise, provide and care for his siblings while his father was serving his country during the war. As a young man he worked for the New Brunswick Canadian Government. After coming to the United States, Bernie worked at Guthrie Lumber and The Buckle in Waltham before retiring from Printed Circuit in Woburn.

He was a jack of all trades and a “Mr. Fixit” type of guy. He was a hard worker and took pride in what he did. But the single most import aspect of his life centered around Family. He was a devoted husband , proud father loving grandfather and great grandfather.

Beloved husband of the late Verna (Miller) Davis.

Bernie is survived by his devoted and loving children Donald Davis and his wife Elaine (Kenney) Davis of Littleton and Gail Cleary and her husband Kim of Burlington, his cherished grandchildren Marc Cleary, Rachel MacKinnon, Jason Davis and his wife Kate, and Julie Davis, his adoring great grandchildren Ashlee, Amy and Allison, and his dear siblings Edith Breau, Maria Thebeau, Albertine Daigle, Sylvie LeBlanc and Emelda Babineau all of Canada. In addition he is survived by many nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by several brothers, sisters and his late dog “Penny”
