Obituary for Michele T. "Shelly" Dragone (Henry)

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family early on Tuesday morning January 17th, 2017 after a courageous battle with lung cancer at the age of 74.

Born on September 18, 1942 in Cambridge; daughter of the late James and Marie (Cunningham) Henry, Shelly was raised in Belmont and has been a resident of Waltham for the past 40 years; as well as Singer Island in Florida for the past 35 years.

Shelly attended Saint Luke’s Elementary School and went on to graduate from Belmont High School with the Class of 1960.

Family was the most important aspect of her life. She cherished her role as wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her love of family was evident in how she cared for each of her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed cooking, traveling, especially to the beach and her occasional trips to the casinos in Connecticut.

Shelly is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Richard Dragone, her devoted & loving sons Richard Dragone Jr. and his wife Michelle of Waltham, Bobby Dragone and his wife Tricia of Waltham, Michael Dragone and his wife Isa of Marlborough, and Joseph Dragone and his wife Elizabeth of Waltham, her cherished grandchildren Kathy, Lauren, Robert, Nicole, James, Mia, JoeJoe and Ryan, adoring great granddaughter Emme, and her dear siblings Peggy Little of Watertown, James Henry of Waltham and Maureen Henry of Natick. In addition she is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Michele’s Life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Saturday morning Jan. 21st at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington Street, BELMONT at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Watertown. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday Jan. 20th from 3 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
