Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Monday morning November 21st, 2016 at Life Care Centers in Littleton, MA at the age of 78.
Born on November 13, 1938 in Waltham; daughter of the late George and Florence (Ridenti) Cacciatore, Madeline was a lifelong resident of Waltham.
Madeline was a devoted nurse and employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an L.P.N. at both the Metropolitan State and Westborough State Hospitals. She was the Director at the JFK Detoxification Center for many years along with the Attending Director of Nursing at Abbey Forest Nursing Home in Waltham. She was also a strong patient advocate for the mentally ill and those suffering from the raging effect of drug abuse. Madeline often volunteered at a local food pantry for the homeless or would bring food and clothing so they would have some sense of comfort.
Madeline enjoyed social gatherings and she was a past member of the Regina Margherita Di Savoia #1094 Sons of Italy Lodge in Waltham.
Family was an important aspect of her life and she was dedicated to their success. Madeline enjoyed spending time with family especially her six grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed walking, cooking, exercising and traveling to many locations in Europe and the Caribbean with her dear friend Pat Smith.
Madeline is survived by her loving & devoted children George Sergi of North Attleboro, Simona MacLure of Gardner, Salvatore R. Sergi of California and Joseph A. Sergi and his wife Patricia of Pepperell. In addition she is survived by 6 cherished grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces & nephews.
She was also the dear sister of the late Raymond Cacciatore.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM on Friday morning Nov. 25th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Madeline’s Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel prior to the Funeral Mass on Friday morning Nov. 25th from 9 – 10:30 a.m. Parking attendants on duty.
