Obituary for Edward R. Corsino

Of Belmont, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in his home after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease on November 13th, 2016 at the age of 83.

Born on February 3, 1933 in Cambridge; son of the late Charles and Filomena Corsino, Ed was raised in Cambridge and lived in Arlington for a short period of time before moving to Belmont over 50 years ago.

A graduate of Cambridge Latin High School, Ed furthered his education graduating with a degree in Engineering from Tufts University.

Ed was employed as a Civil Engineer with Badger Engineers of Cambridge for over 35 years. He was a Certified Licensed Civil Engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

He was a long-time Board Member of the Arlington Retired Men’s Club; where he coordinated many of the travel events for the organization. He loved to travel the world for work and pleasure.

The real focus of his life was his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He loved following all of his grandchildren’s events and enjoyed going dancing with his wife.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Blonda M. (Palmieri) Corsino, his devoted & loving sons Belmont Fire Lt. Edward R. Corsino Jr. and his wife Diane of Belmont, Michael J. Corsino and his wife Marcia of Burlington, and Mark A. Corsino and his wife Margaret of Burlington, his cherished grandchildren Brian Corsino (BFD) and his wife Lauren, Jason Corsino (BFD) and his wife Lindsay, Leanne Langmaid and her husband William, Katelyn, Kevin, Matthew, Brendan, Carolyn, Gabrielle and Cameron Corsino, his adoring great grandchildren Reese Corsino and Cole Langmaid, and his dear siblings Virginia Cuggino of Belmont, Marie Agraz of Lexington, Lorraine Cullen of Marlborough, and Frank Corsino of Lexington. In addition he is survived by many nieces & nephews and close friends.

Ed was predeceased by 7 brothers & sisters.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Edward’s Life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Thursday morning Nov. 17th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 10:30 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday Nov. 16th from 3 – 7 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Ed’s memory to the National Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.
