Obituary for John F. "Jack" Wheeler II

Of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning May 14th, 2016 in his home at the age of 76.

Born on October 31, 1939 in Natick; son of the late John F. Wheeler Jr. and Mary S. (Souza) Wheeler, Jack was raised in Wayland and has been a resident for the past 40 years.

He proudly served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Jack was employed as a Postal Worker with the United States Postal Service for 40 years before his retirement in November of 2015.

He was a member of numerous civic organizations including the Waltham Kiwanis Club, Waltham Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. #953, the Waltham Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1018, the Joseph Hill American Legion Post #156 in Waltham and the Masonic Lodge.

In his spare time he loved to gamble on Horse Racing and his many trips to Foxwoods.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Frances “Fran” (Cincotta) Wheeler, his loving in-law's Mary Bennett of Waltham, Diane Diminico and her husband Angelo of Woburn, and Joseph Cincotta of Waltham. In addition he is survived by his uncle Bob Souza, his cousin Randy Souza, best friends Bob Shea, Lou DeVito and Carol Cornfield, and several adoring nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody St, WALTHAM on Friday morning May 20th at 8:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Jack’s Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St, Waltham at 9:00 a.m. Interment with United States Air Force Military Honors will follow at North Cemetery in Wayland. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday May 19th from 5 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
