Obituary for Pauline Mae Bova (Dubie)

Pauline Mae Bova (Dubie)
Of Waltham, passed away Monday evening, May 2, 2016 at her home. She was 85.

Born in Portland, Maine to the late Ludger and Jeanne (Boivin) Dubie, she moved to Waltham as a young girl and has been a resident ever since.

To Pauline, her children were her life. As a young mother her late former husband, Donald J. Saulnier, Sr., became paralyzed after an accident and she became the sole provider and caregiver for her children and husband. During the day she would watch her children and in the evening she would sell clothing at home shows. Having the home shows was a way for her to support her family, but it was also something she enjoyed because of her love for fashion. Later in life Pauline made puzzles for all of her children which they will all cherish for the rest of their lives.

As difficult as the first half of her life could be, the second half of her life became easy when she met her Beloved husband of 27 years Augustine "Bovi" Bova. He gave her the life she never had. Together they enjoyed dancing, and going to the casino, she also enjoyed cross country skiing, which she took up when she was 50 years old. Pauline always kept a positive outlook on life, and would tell her children "You have to have Whimsy in your life".

Besides her husband she is survived by her loving children Donald J. Saulnier, Jr. and his wife Christine (Casella) of West Yarmouth, Mark Saulnier and his wife Kimberly (Collins) of Dover, MA, Aimee J. Bastarache-Saulnier and her wife Diana M. Bastarache-Saulnier of Waltham, and Sheila M. Ierardi and her husband Michael of Canton, and her sister Sheila White and her husband Robert of Waltham. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Jeanette Sturtevant, Wilfred Dubie, Tyrene Sturtevant Leon Dubie, Roland Dubie, and Diane Hancock.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend A Funeral Service in celebration of Pauline's life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
