Obituary for Irwin David Malkofsky (Malkofsky)

Of Waltham, passed away, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was 63.

Born in Boston to the late Hyman and Elizabeth (Conzo) Malkofsky, he was raised in West Newton until moving to Waltham in 1978 where he has been a resident ever since.

Irwin worked at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital as a Public Safety Officer, until his retirement in 2014.

Mr. Malkofsky will be remembered as a hard worker who devoted his life to his family. In his spare time Irwin enjoyed playing darts and being with his family.

He was the Beloved father of the late Tracy Malkofsky and brother of the late Linda Burton, June Rubino, Jeff Malkofsky, and John Malkofsky.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Carol (Bennett) Malkofsky of Waltham, his devoted daughter Adrienne Malkofsky of Waltham, his brother Mark Malkofsky of Auburndale, his sister Elaine Drobnis of Stoughton, his mother-in-law Lucy Bennett of Waltham, and his cherished grandson Ryan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and his Newton-Wellesley Hospital family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of Irwin's life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Frideay, May 13, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment of ashes will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 3 - 7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
