It is with great sadness that we inform you all that our Husband, Father, Father-in-Law, Uncle and Brother, Dr. Nanda Dulal Sinha, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in his ancestral home in India at the age of 70.

Nanda was born in Bundu, Ranchi, Jharkhand and grew up as the eldest of five brothers and two sisters. He first came to the United States in 1975, landing in Boston. After more than 15 years of traveling and working around the world, Nanda finally settled back in the Acton-Boxborough area with his wife, Swati, and his sons, Nirupam and Niladri.

Nanda was passionate about his work in oligonucleotide chemistry and he built a large community of colleagues at multiple organizations in the Greater Boston area.

Nanda was a devoted, loving and caring husband, father, father-in-law, brother, and uncle who treasured time with his family and friends.

He was also a pillar of many community groups and activities in the Greater Boston area. He was a man celebrated for his warmth, insight, honesty, sincerity and love for all those around him. His caring nature and great humor will be significantly missed.

He is survived by his wife Swati, sons Nirupam and Niladri, and daughter-in-law Emily. He is also survived by many family members in the United States and India.
