Of Waltham, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 65.
Born and raised in Cap Hatian, Haiti to the late Jouse Ruffin and Celinesse Regis. Jack spent some time in West Palm Beach, Florida befor moving to Waltham 25 years ago, where he has been a resident ever since.
Jack worked as a residential counselor at the Fernald Center in Waltham for many years. While still living in Haiti he worked as a host on a Radio Station called Citadelle.
Mr. Ruffin enjoyed following sports and talking politics in his spare time. He will be remembered as a hard-working, respectable, loyal family man with a great sense of humor. He loved to fire up the grill and invite the neighborhood over for cookouts.
He is survived by his loving wife Josee Laguerre of Waltham, his devoted children Mario Durandisse of California, Sabrina Ruffin of Waltham, Stephanie Ruffin of Connecticut, Peter Ruffin of Waltham, Saradjen and Deborah Ruffin, his cherished grandson Aiden and his niece Kacendre, and his half sister Jocelyn M. Adrein.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitng hours at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham Sunday, September 6 from 3-6 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
