Of Waltham, passed away Saturday April 18th, 2015 with loving family by her side in Newton - Wellesley Hospital at the age of 65.
Born on June 26, 1949 in Waltham; loving daughter of Pauline (McDonald) LaCava of Waltham and the late Anthony "Rags" LaCava, Linda was a lifelong resident of Waltham's southside neighborhood.
One of the last graduate's of Saint Charles Borromeo High School with the Class of 1967; she began her career as a Nurses Aide at Waltham Hospital in 1972 while attending Nursing School and graduating in 1977.
Linda was employed as a Licensed Practicing Nurse at Waltham Hospital for over 25 years before its closing and retiring from Kindred Hospital. She was the most caring, compassionate, understanding and gentle person you could meet. She treated all her patients with the dignity and respect all deserve. She choose the most noble of professions to give of herself to help others in need of medical care.
Her family was the central focus of her life; she was a devoted & loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and dear friend to so many.
Linda enjoyed the simple things in life but she loved to bake, play bingo, shop and was an avid reader.
Beloved wife for 31 years to the late Richard "Rocky" Ahlman.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her loving daughter Rhonda Jean Hanley and her husband John "Jack " Hanley of Maynard, her cherished grandchildren Toni and Halie Dupell and Tyler Hanley, her dear siblings Janice LaCava of Derry, NH, Bud LaCava and his wife Linda of Weston, and Loyce Catanzaro and her husband Joseph of Holliston, her adoring nieces and nephews Kara Murray and her husband DJ, Jenna and Dana LaCava, Kelsey and Michaela Catanzaro, Eileen Glover and her husband John, John Ahlman and his wife Tanya, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends who will miss her dearly.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Linda's Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Monday morning April 27th at 11:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Sunday April 26th from 2 - 6 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
