Obituary for Anita Silva (Palmieri)

Of Lunenburg formerly of Waltham passed away at the Golden Living Center of Fitchburg. She was 82.

Born and raised in Somerville to the late Frank and Maria (Costantino) Palmieri, Anita resided in Somerville before moving to Waltham where she raised her family and lived for over 45 years.

Anita worked as a office manager for Dr. Blumenthal in Waltham for many years.

She was a member of the Waltham Moose club, the Italian Club of Woburn where she was past president, and the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion post 156. As a younger woman, Anita would perform in musicals put on at Our Lady's Church.

In her spare time Mrs. Silva enjoyed playing the organ, shopping for cloths, traveling, and most of all being with her family. She will be remembered as a loving woman who was always willing to give a helping hand.

She is survived by her loving husband Donald Silva, her devoted children Joseph Silva and his wife Donna (DiTommaso) of Leominster, Michael Silva and his wife Nancy (Fonseca) of Waltham, and Patricia Lenihan and her husband Michael of Lunenburg, and her cherished grandchildren Joseph Silva of Nashua, Andrea Silva of Worcester, Jason Silva of Manchester, NH, Kristen Treacey of Chelmsford, Stacey Kerns of Chelmsford, Meagan Toberos of Lunenburg, and Melissa Lenihan of Fitchburg, and her great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Isaiah, Emma, Matthew, Paige, Kyla, Teagan, and Kaylan.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Monday at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Anita's life at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 857 Trapelo Rd., Waltham. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
