Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Saturday morning February 28th, 2015 surrounded by her loving family in Cambridge Hospital at the age of 88.

Born on February 14, 1927 In Cambridge, daughter of the late John and Angelina (Martucci) Pellegrino, Carmella was raised in Arlington and has been a resident of Waltham for the past 65 years.

Carmella attended Arlington schools and was employed as a young woman at the Raytheon Corporation and Grover Cronin's Department Store both in Waltham for many years.

She worked as a Poll Checker during elections for the City of Waltham. She volunteered in the Mayor's office for several years.

Family was the most important aspect of Carmella's life. She loved spending time following all of her grandchildren sporting and special events in their lives

Beloved wife for 66 years to the late John P. Giordano.

She is survived by her loving sons John P. Giordano Jr. and his wife Roseann of Stow and Waltham Police Officer Rich J. Giordano and his wife Dawn of Watertown, her cherished grandchildren Leanna, Lauren, Alexa, Nick, Michael & Brett, and dear siblings Joseph Pellegrino of Arlington, George Pellegrino of Arlington, Lucy Demers of Arlington, Mary Russell of Arlington, John Pellegrino of Arlington, Anthony Pellegrino of Arlington, Rose Querci of North Andover, Ann Teehan of Arlington and Frank Pellegrino of Tewksbury. In addition she is survived by many nieces & nephews.

Sister of the late Carmine Pellegrino and Eleanor Chisholm.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Carmella's Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning March 6th at 11:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday March 5th from 4 – 8 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking.
