Of Waltham, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Mount Auburn Hospital. He was 92.
Born in Watertown August 11, 1922 to the late Nazareth and Anna Jigargian, he grew up in Watertown and was a 1940 graduate of Watertown High School. Edward moved to Waltham with his family in 1963. He also spent many years living in Deerfield and Boca Raton, Florida before moving back to Waltham in 2012.
Eddie served honorably in The United States Army Air Corp during World War II as an Airplane Pilot.
Eddie started his career working for his father at the Mayfair Spa in Brighton, which he later ran. He then opened and operated The Melting Pot in Lexington selling gourmet and imported groceries for many years.
In his younger years Eddie enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and reading. He also always enjoyed spending time with his family and his time spent in Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Alice (Hunkiar) Jigarjian of Waltham, his devoted children Janice Bella and her husband Peter of Newton, Beverly Lelievre and her husband Peter of Waltham, his sisters Helen Perez of Burlington, and Ann Seferian of CT, his cherished grandchildren Jennifer Cronin and her husband Ryan of Waltham, Melissa McCarthy and her husband Chris of Billerica, Andrea Torres and her husband Ismael of Billerica, Jessica Bella and her husband Andrew Marchand of Waltham, Robyn Barry and her husband Kevin of Waltham, Mark Jigarjian of New York, and Lauren Jigarjian of Somerville, and his great grandchildren Matthew, Emily, Dennen, Macy, Abby, Mia, Aleece, Elliana, and James. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was the beloved father of the late Edward N. Jigarjian, and brother of the late Charlotte Hunter, and George Jigarjian.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham Saturday, February, 28, from 2-6 p.m. concluding with military honors at 6 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
