Of Jamaica Plain, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday September 5th, 2014 in his residence at the age of 61.

Born on October 16, 1952 in Kampala, Uganda; Wayne was a resident of Waltham for over 20 years and has resided in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston from 2009 to 2014.

Wayne was employed as a Civil Engineer for most of his life.

He was a friendly, easy going guy who loved his children, the New England Patriot’s, and other Boston sports teams.

His passion was helping others battle addiction, something he himself struggled with for many years. He was a peer counselor for alcoholics anonymous in Waltham and Boston.

Wayne will be missed dearly by many in Waltham and Jamaica Plain communities.

He is survived by his loving children Ffyona and Kyle Patel both of Waltham, his dear siblings Govindra Patel of Illinois and Suresh Patel of New Jersey, and his former wife Marthe Germa Patel of Waltham.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Wayne’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning Sept. 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
