Obituary for William Henry White

Of Waltham passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Sunday, July 27, 2014 at his home. He was 73.

Born and raised in Newton to the late Henry and Ida (Fontana), he moved to Waltham in 1964 where he has been a resident ever since. He was a graduate of Our Lady's High School in Newton and Northeastern University.

William served honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Mr. White owned and operated Spectro-Film, which manufactures High Tech Optics.

William was a pilot who owned and refurbished his 1946 Piper Cub. He flew his plane out of Nashua Airfield. He also enjoyed restoring old cars and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He will be remembered always as a "Gear Head".

He was the beloved father of the late Kenneth Robert White.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Carolyn (Ostrowski) White of Waltham, his devoted children Jacqueline M. McDonald and her husband Richard of Waltham and Michael White of Waltham, his brother David White of Uxbridge, his sister Sylvia White of California, and his cherished grandchildren Kenneth, Cameron, and Isabella McDonald, and Ashley and Julia White all of Waltham. He is also survived by a niece and nephew

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Friday at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of William's life at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall St., Waltham, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
