Obituary for Beverly F. Burke (Brown )

Of Belmont, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon July 22nd, 2014 at the Neville House in Cambridge at the age of 88.

Born on August 15, 1925 in Lynn; daughter of the late Louis and Jean (Gilchrist) Brown, Beverly was a lifelong resident of Belmont.

A graduate of Belmont High School, as a young woman Beverly worked for the Town of Belmont Public Schools as a Secretary at the Butler Elementary School.

Family was the most important aspect of her life. She was a devoted and loving with, mother and grandmother.

In her spare time she was an avid reader, she had a passion for cars, keeping op on current political events and had a love of the ocean.

Beloved wife for 67 years to the late Bernard M. Burke.

She is survived by her devoted & Loving children Sharon Corbett and her husband James of Waltham, Doreen Burke Joyal and her husband Rock of Waltham and Paul Burke of Belmont, and her cherished grandchildren Jennifer Ann, Kristin Marie, Kathleen Lynn, Ashley Jean and Heather Elise and great grandfather of Oden James and Zaya Corbett. In addition she is survived by several nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 325 Trapelo Rd, BELMONT on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Beverly’s Life at Saint Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St, Belmont at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery. Visiting Hours on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking.
