Of Waltham passed away peacefully Tuesday morning July 22, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness at the age of 80.
Born on February 9, 1934 in Waltham; daughter of the late Joseph and Helen ( Murphy) Collins, Dot was a lifelong resident of Waltham.
A graduate of Saint Mary's High School, Dot was employed as a Office Manager throughout her life at the Raytheon Corporation, Grover Cronin's Department Store retiring from the Y.M.C.A. in Waltham.
For many years along with her husband she was an active and devoted parishioner of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish in Waltham.
Dot enjoyed working on her computer, traveling with her husband especially on cruises, listening to music and going to the Reagle Player shows. She loved spending time
with her family and her very close lifelong friends Don and Connie Vautour, Joe and Katie Byrne, Joan and her husband the late Binky O'Donnell.
Beloved wife for 56 years to the late Paul E. Curtis.
She is survived by her loving children Douglas Curtis of Magnolia, Lori Ford and her husband John of Waltham, Janet Curtis of Millis and Christopher Joliat of Waterbury, CT. In addition she is survived by 12 cherished grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Sister of the late Helen Moan, Joe, Johnny and David Collins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Mary's Life at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Rd., Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
