Of Belmont, passed away peacefully, Monday morning, July 14, 2014 at the Epoch Senior Health Care of Melrose Nursing Home. She was 85.

Born in the North End of Boston to the late Rocco and Grace (Corsiglia) Romano, she grew up in Wayland and was a graduate of Wayland High School.
Betty worked as a legal secretary for Waverly Insurance in Belmont for over 30 years.

In her spare time Betty enjoyed traveling the world. Two of her favorite destinations were Italy and Japan. She also loved to cook and to spend time with her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Michael T. Romano, and devoted mother of the late Nancy Landry, and sister of the late Tomasina and Anthony Romano.

She is survived by her loving daughter Nadine Ritchie and her husband Dennis of Lynnfield, her son-in-law Paul Landry of Belmont, and her cherished grandchildren Ryan Landry and his wife Anne (Johnson) of Reading, Keryn Landry and her significant other Timothy Baroni of Malden, Lauren Ritchie and her fiancé Andrew Cournoyer of Boston, and Devon Ritchie and her fiancé Nathan Frieswyk of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 325 Trapelo Rd., BELMONT, Friday at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Elizabeth's life at Saint Joseph Church, 130 Common St., Belmont at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Parking Attendants will be on duty.
