Of West Roxbury passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Brighton. He was 81.
Born November 26, 1932 in Boston, he was the son of the late Timothy and Julia (Sales) Reynolds. Dick grew up in Boston and was a graduate of Dorchester High School and attended Bunker Hill Community College. He and his wife lived in Brighton for some time before moving to West Roxbury 21 years ago.
Mr. Reynolds served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Libra, and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a Boston Firefighter from May 1, 1968 until his retirement November 30, 1997. He wore badge number 2513. A past president of the Boston Fireman's Relief fund and the a member of the Death and Welfare Board.
In his spare time Dick enjoyed following the local sports teams especially the Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 Years Donna (Aucoin) Reynolds, his loving children Danita Goble of CA and Daniel Reynolds of CA, and his devoted Godson Jon Gorgone of Dorchester. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Robert and William Reynolds and the late Lillian Spileos.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Wednesday at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Richard's life at St Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Rd., Weston at 11:00 a.m. Interment with United States Navy Military Honors will be held at the V.A. Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:15 p.m. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
