Of Bedford formerly of Beverly, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, July 11, 2014 at the Meadow Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waltham. She had just celebrated her 90th birthday on July 9.
Born in Kansans City, Missouri to the late Grover and Leo (Crews) Squires, she grew up in Wellington, MO. Joan moved to Beverly, Massachusetts as a young woman, where she raised her own family and resided for 36 years.
Joan worked for Bay Bank and Trust as a Teller for fifteen years.
In her spare time Joan enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late William A. McElhiney, Sr.
She is survived by her loving sons William A. McElhiney, Jr. and his wife Myrna of Kansas City, MO and Michael McElhiney and his wife Michelle of Bedford, and her cherished grandchildren Michael, Theresa, Shannon, and Ryan. She is also survived 5 great grandchildren
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St. Waltham, Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a Memorial service at 7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
