Of Waltham, passed away early Saturday afternoon May 17th, 2014 at the Stanley P. Tippett Hospice Home in Needham at the age of 77.
Born on August 9, 1936 in Sinagra, Sicily; daughter of the late Antonino and Giuseppa (Palazzolo) Mose, Caterina immigrated to the United States as a young woman in 1954 and has been a resident of Waltham ever since.
A devoted and loving homemaker to her husband and children throughout her life, Caterina enjoyed crocheting, gardening, making and cooking pasta. She loved spending time with her neighbors, friends and most especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted & loving children Josie Gaudet and her husband John of Waltham, Rita Varner and her husband Billy of Ayer, Gino Allia and his wife Deborah of Framingham, Peter Allia and his wife Heather Jackson-Allia of Arlington and Antonio Allia and his wife Courtney of Waltham, her cherished grandchildren John and Christopher Gaudet, Makayla Allia, Sydney and Danielle Varner, Teresa and Antonio Allia. In addition she is survived by several siblings, nieces & nephews in Italy.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Wednesday morning May 21st at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Caterina’s Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
