Of Cambridge, died Monday, May 13, 2013, after a courageous ,16 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was 71.
Mr. Miller was born and raised in Waltham to the late George E. Miller, Sr. and Rita (Purcel). Before settling in Cambridge George spent some time in Kennebunkport, ME, Chester, NH, and Dallas, TX..
He was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham and Hawthorne College in New Hampshire. He was also a member of the Coast Guard Reserves for several years.
In 1975 started Mill-Bern Associates, where worked as a manufacturer's representative. He owned and operated Mill-Bern Associates until his retirement in 1998. He was also a philanthropist and was involved with many different charities.
George was a passionate Boston sports enthusiast, and a great story teller. He was also an avid Golfer and a longtime member of The International Golf Club in Bolton.
He is survived by his loving children Sheryl Miller-Rideout and her husband Michael Rideout of Kennebunkport, ME, and George E. Miller, III and his wife Lysa (Large) of Bolton, his brother Richard Miller and his wife Jennifer Nicolai-Miller of Naples, FL, his 5 cherished grandchildren Connor, George IV, Mickey, Lindsey, and Sylvie, and his wife Judith Flanagan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Thursday May, 16, 2013 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of George's life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 15, from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
